FAQs
Everything You Need To Know
What is advanced training and who is it for?
Advanced is designed for dogs that already understand basic cues and are ready to improve reliability under distraction. It includes more challenging patterns, greater handler-dog communication and early stages of off-lead work. This level suits owners who want refined control during walks, social environments or active lifestyles. It’s also ideal for dogs needing mental stimulation or improved behavioural consistency in unpredictable settings.
How does advanced training improve a dog’s behaviour long-term?
Advanced training teaches dogs to respond reliably even when highly stimulated or distracted. Through structured repetition and increased difficulty, dogs learn how to regulate excitement, maintain focus and follow cues in real-world situations. These skills flow into everyday life—helping with calm greetings, steady lead walking, better recall and improved self-control. Strong handler-dog teamwork also develops, reducing confusion and replacing unwanted behaviours with clear expectations.
Is off-lead training safe for all dogs?
Off-lead reliability depends on a dog’s foundation skills, temperament, recall strength and exposure to distractions. Not all dogs are immediately ready for off-lead environments, especially in busy or unfenced areas. Structured advanced training prepares dogs gradually by reinforcing engagement, recall, impulse control and responsiveness. With consistent practice, many dogs can achieve safe off-lead behaviour, but owners must assess each situation carefully.
